Yes, more than most people expect. Heavier snowfall means far more plowing, and plow blades chip slab edges and open joints. Heavier snowfall also means more de-icing salt, and salt on a slab that has not fully cured causes surface scaling that cannot be reversed. We pour air-entrained concrete, space joints so the slab cracks where we tooled it rather than where the ice decides, and leave written instructions asking for sand instead of salt through the first winter and a shoe on the plow blade after that.

A broom-finished concrete pool deck generally runs $8 to $14 per square foot installed here, and stamped or stained work runs roughly $14 to $22 depending on pattern and colour. The variables that actually move the price on a Hamburg lot are the shape around the pool, how much grade correction the site needs, and drainage away from the coping.
